What is Neuro-Fascial Re-Education?
NFR is a unique bodywork modality, created by Gary Remes, which combines elements of acupressure, trigger point therapy, and fascial release in a synergistic manner to relieve pain and return the body to balance. NFR is particularly effective in relieving chronic pain because it first re-balances the nervous system via acupressure points and trigger points; and then follows up with fascial release work to ensure that the old, dysfunctional pattern held in the connective tissue is not re-activated.
About Neuro-Fascial Re-education and Massage
Gary F. Remes, LMT is a second generation massage therapist, who found his love for massage at the age of four. He was introduced to bodywork as a child living with his Ukrainian grandfather, a massage therapist trained in Russian massage who used his knowledge of the body to rehabilitate both horses and people. With his keen sense to discover body pain through his hands, Gary has been learning and deepening his intuitive sense of touch since that time with a hunger to learn whatever it took to really make a difference in people’s bodies and to eliminate their pain.
Gary Remes has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 24 years. Gary studied pain reducing techniques with renowned doctors and therapists and received personal training from renowned doctors and therapists, including Dr. Gustave Suffin; Dr. Karen Lee, OMD; Reggie Griffin and Danielle Boyer, Doctors of Chiropractic. Remes also trained in Myofascial ReleaseTM with John Barnes, and worked in his clinic. Gary is a graduate of the St. Jude Medical Center’s Chronic Pain program.
As a licensed therapist for 24 years, Remes’ experience includes employment at many of today’s prominent establishments and private practices, including the Spa Hotel Palm Springs; Mii Amo Spa and Sedona New Day Spa, both in Sedona, Arizona, and the Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, where he was Spa Manager. His crafts also include cranial sacral bodywork, Neuro-emotional kinesiology, reflexology, sports massage, and deep tissue, Shiatsu, Jin Shin Do and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi.
